The University of Vermont is 3 hours north and there are many smaller colleges in this state. On top of that, the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center is one of the finest in New England. Manchester, which is in the corridor between here and Rutland, is a busy town, also, for shopping and restaurants. Not too far outside Manchester are several ski areas, all of which are well known attractions.
